Project Fordson Van One Woman's Dream, One Man's.......
Words and Pics..Chris Walker (englishedsel)

It all started at the NSRA SupaNats in 2007 when my father in law Stewart Revill won the giveaway
Fordson. We had joked that that if he won it, I would buy it from him to build a "HotRod" for my missus Lisa.
Anyway prize giving came and went and it was time for the prize draw. After two tickets had been drawn
out, but with the wrong answers eventually a ticket was drawn out with the correct answers and it was
Stewart's.
The whole family were ecstatic and eventually back at camp Lisa approached her father to remind him of his
promise, that we could buy it from him, he agreed and her dream of having her own Hot Rod was now
becoming a reality, with a little help from me.
The bench designs had begun and there was no turning back now. Various formations were bantered about,
but I wanted to fit a 2-Litre Pinto so that it could be used as a daily,
Nah it's got to have an eight, the ideas and celebrations lasted for a short while longer, but it was time to
pack up and head off home.
The journey home was filled with my missus dreaming of having her own Rod and what would it be like to
attend shows with it. It was good to hear her getting excited about the daunting task ahead and I admit at
being in the planning stage euphoria myself.

Arrangements were made to collect the Fordson from Stewart's as it had been delivered to his address.
The list of contributors to the prize was very impressive and featured a lot of the big name suppliers
and builders in the hobby.
Below is the list of contributors to the initial project.

There is still a hell of a lot of work to do, but I have to say thanks to the guys at Burnhams for all the
chassis work as it will make my job a lot easier now.
